On April 11th, 2017, Foreign trade University in coordination with Center of Education Accreditation – Hanoi National University held the solemn Announcement and Awarding of Education Accreditation Certificate Ceremony – 2011-2016.
The ceremony sincerely welcomed Prof. Dr Nguyen Quy Thanh – Director of VNU Centre for Education Accreditation and Director of VNU Education University; Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien – Deputy Director of VNU Centre for Education Accreditation and members of FTU External Accreditation Committee.
Representatives from Foreign Trade University are: Assoc. Prof Bui Anh Tuan – President, Assoc. Prof Le Thi Thu Thuy – Vice President, Assoc. Prof Dao Thi Thu Giang – Vice President, Assoc. Prof Nguyen Thu Thuy – Vice President, management of campuses, heads of departments, Youth Union, Student Union and Alumni Association representatives.
FTU was assigned to conduct trial on new operation mechanism according to Prime Minister’s decision. The University has 11 Undergraduate programs, consisting of 23 majors, of which 6 are taught in English and 17 are standard programs; 8 Graduate programs and 2 Doctoral programs. Besides, FTU also offers a number of joint undergraduate and graduate programs in cooperation with international education institutions such as United Kingdom, United States of America, Denmark, Japan, France, etc.
Students from FTU are highly appreciated by domestic and foreign employers; they are also well-known for their knowledge and professional skills, adaptability and creativity. According to independent survey output by FTU External Accreditation Committee, there are 96.6% of students are employed within 1 year since graduation.
FTU firmly determines that education quality assurance and improvement are ultimate goals as well as strategic solution. The University always agrees with the Government and Ministry of Education and Training’s plan, which takes education accreditation as a crucial method to improve education quality. FTU also pays significant attention to quality assurance, tries their best to complete required education accreditation, including institutional accreditation and program accreditation.
Based on recommendation from the External Accreditation Committee and VNU Centre for Education Accreditation, the University has built its comprehensive plan to improve its education quality. The Education Accreditation result has once again proved FTU position, prestige and quality; FTU member of staff’s effort during time of changes, difficulties and modest stability, which all contribute to enhancement of awareness of FTU staff on quality assurance and are important forces of FTU in continuous quality improvement to meet regional and international standards. Education accreditation result is also important evidence of education quality for FTU to show Ministry of Education and Training, to give students and employers information in education institution selection.
